In Rome, we saw the Colosseum which is probably the most famous landmark in Rome. Built in the 1st century AD, this great arena could seat 45,000 spectators and was the largest Roman amphitheater in the world. It hosted gladiatorial combats, spectacles with wild beasts and possibly the execution of early Christians. Throughout the Middle Ages, the Colosseum was believed to be a place of martyrdom and was therefore regarded as a sacred place.
I couldn't help but share how cute the Coca Cola Light (Diet Coke) at this super cute Pizza place called Pizza Ré in Rome.
This is the gorgeous sunset on our last night in Rome at the Ristorante Mirabelle which looked over the entire city of Rome and had a spectacular view of the Vatican.
This first picture from Florence was taken from inside the Uffizi Gallery looking at the Ponte Vecchio which translates to "Old Bridge", is a Medieval stone closed-spandrel segmental arch bridge over the Arno River, in Florence, Italy, noted for still having shops built along it, as was once common. Butchers initially occupied the shops; the present tenants are jewelers, art dealers and souvenir sellers. The Ponte Vecchio's two neighbouring bridges are the Ponte Santa Trinita and the Ponte alle Grazie.
This is another gorgeous sunset view from Florence at the Belmond Villa San Michele restaurant which is in a hotel which used to be a monastery. You got to see the whole city of Florence including the Duomo.
This is the first picture from Venice which was taken near Saint Mark's Basilica.
This is the last picture from my Italy adventures, taken in Venice showing the 'bridge of sighs' which connects the prison to the interrogation rooms at Doge's Palace.
I hope you enjoyed my pictures from my italian adventures!!!
